WALMART “HOMECOMING” CONCERT SERIES

As students across the country were heading back to school, Aurora Films joined Momentum Worldwide and Walmart in helping families and communities celebrate the back-to-school season by producing a series of music experiences and a livestream event honoring teachers, schools, and students.

Walmart “Homecoming” brought Imagine Dragons, Chance the Rapper, and Kane Brown back to their hometowns for a free, exclusive, outdoor (or virtual) concert for students and teachers of their alma maters.

This one-of-a-kind project took us to three cities spanning over two weeks to document and livestream this exciting show. To pull it all off required dozens of cameras and a jib, video playback gear, mobile editing, DIT, teleprompters, operators, techs, and live segment directors to capture, produce, and ultimately stream the culmination of this multi-city show.

First, the crew set out to Bonanza High School in Las Vegas where alumnus Dan Reynolds and Imagine Dragons took the stage for students and faculty to enjoy a live performance from the high school football field. This was also the first show Imagine Dragons performed since the start of the global pandemic!

We then flew over to Chicago, where the crew set up in the House of Blues for Chance the Rapper to perform an exclusive, one hour show streamed to students and faculty at his alma mater, Jones College Prep High School.

To round out the tour, the Walmart “Homecoming” celebration was capped by a livestream event hosted by actors Noah Schnapp (Stranger Things, Bridge of Spies) and Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) with a live performance by country star Kane Brown from his alma mater in Fort Oglethorpe, GA.

Aurora Films captured the content from all three concerts to seamlessly merge into our one-of-a-kind livestream production, requiring us to also edit and manage transitions between performances, Schnapp and Bailey, and the live portions of the broadcast itself… Whew - What a memorable few weeks!

This was an incredible project and and all of us at Aurora Films are truly proud of the work and collaboration that made “Homecoming” a success.

Today’s the day! Tune in to Walmart Homecoming TONIGHT at 8:30pm ET to see performances by Chance the Rapper, Kane Brown, & Imagine Dragons. Set your reminder below! 👇 #HereWeGo https://t.co/EQROoSocde
