INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

The Aurora Films collegiate internship program is unpaid, for-credit, and typically offered to upper-level students. The program is an opportunity for college students to gain work experiences, observe best practices, and make connections in the video production industry.

Ideal candidates are self-driven, eager to learn, and possess a college-level understanding of the full video production process from pre-production through post-production. Applicants should be adaptable, resourceful, and must work well with others. Preferred candidates are upper-level students with relevant coursework in video production.

Interns are required to complete the internship program as detailed by the student’s college or university.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist video editors with:

  1. 1. 1. 1. Logging and organizing footage and bins

           2. Recording voiceover “scratch tracks”

           3. Research, music discovery, transcribing, and captioning

           4. Some editing and creating graphics

• Assist the production crew with:

  1. 1. 1. 1. Gear organization, preparation, and striking

           2. Video production both in-studio and on-location (local)

           3. Studio and location lighting

• Participate in social media marketing efforts

• Administrative tasks

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Friendly personality with a go-getter attitude

• High attention to details with the ability to follow instructions

• College-level knowledge of video production, lighting techniques, and shot composition

• Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar NLE (Minimum 1 year)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Kyno media management

• An understanding of typography and aesthetically appealing graphics and images

• Familiarity with common video effects and plug-ins

• Knowledge of production gear and terminology

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma and working towards a Bachelor’s, Associate’s or Vocational degree in video production or similar
