FREELANCE PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

Aurora Films is seeking a Freelance Production Coordinator. The Production Coordinator must possess a strong understanding of the video production process, with emphasis on pre-production timelines and logistics. The Production Coordinator should be personable and must communicate well. They should be adaptable, resourceful, and must work well with others in a deadline-driven environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in organization and maintenance of the production calendar

• Source crew, build crew lists, and prepare call sheets

• Distribution of production schedules, deal memos, and call sheets

• Apply for, and manage permits as needed

• Book accurate travel and accommodation for crew, cast, and client when applicable

• Manage Production Assistants (PAs), as needed

• Arrange for catering when necessary

• Maintain communication as projects move through departments

• Collaborate with creatives

• Troubleshoot issues that may arise

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with production coordination, or similar (3 years)

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Knowledge and understanding of the entire video production process

• Knowledge of video production gear, software, and terminology

• Personable and professional towards clients, talent, vendors, and crew

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Detailed with Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, Adobe Acrobat, and similar

• Stand, walk, and work on their feet for extended periods of time

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience on a production set

• Project management training

• Adaptability to Aurora Films processes

• Ability to multitask

• The ability to exercise judgement

• Flexible schedule and the ability to work long and/or irregular hours in various conditions
